#MOST POPLULAR DAYZ MOD ARMA 3 HOW TO#
I'm 'shitting' on it because there is no support for it in the community (at least based on the poll and the player/visitor statics on the landing page).Īlso, I think there have been at least 3 chances for an Arma 3 server before and they haven't exactly been box office hits and I've offered my help to Rolle on any and all Arma 3 projects way back, but I never got to start work on any of them.īut then again: it's not my money or my time so what am I giving my opinion for, but I honestly doubt this will lead to anything unless there's like an actual thread that would list bullet points on how to make the server successful and why it's needed and a new poll in which there is a good majority support for it.Īnd not only that, but ARMA 3 as a game is a lot more customizable and stable than DS with propperly working vehicles, helicopters, boats and planes.ĪRMA 3 also has a lot of really great mods that add a lot of immersion, like for example: TFAR (Task Force Arrowhead Radio), which is a really great mod that uses teamspeak. Like instead of shitting on it before its came out lets actually give it a chance, and if people dont like it just stick to standalone and let the mod people play what they want. I'm saying lets try it again with no dlc paywall and a much better mod and if you don't like it you can always do what I do and just not play it. It's alive still for a reason though my friend, people are sick of waiting standalone, and the reason it didn't work the last time cos the mod was ass and there was a £25 pay wall to get onto it. (I know these things have been pointed out before in this thread but I thought I should chime in since it's still alive somehow)
These side projects just don't work/last long and right now, one wouldn't work anyways since the player base seems to be rather small. The points in that post were good enough to justify sticking with DayZ, but the most compelling one is that the last time we had the Arma 3 server and I offered to start developing for it (Scripting, fixing those annoying game-breaking bugs), it had already died off.
Longer post in which I go more into detail about why we should just suck it up and stick with DayZ for now, REGARDLESS of how long it will take to develop BETA / 0.63: Let's just stick with it and if you're interested in an Arma 3 server, there is that other community that Rolle started up for other games (Even though it seems like it has been under maintenance/offline for like a week now). If folks know that DayZ is coming as a product soon enough, they just might wait. There's clearly no support for it and it clearly hasn't worked before.Ĭan we just let this idea die already? DayZ is being currently developed and believe or not, Bohemia has decided to not abandon the project, but to finish it against all odds. The longer the DayZ team waited, the more video games that would take their concept and run with it. Announcing now, even with incredibly few details, is likely a maneuver to head them all off at the pass. The reason for the quick announcement probably stems from rumblings in the community about recently announced The War Z- a standalone game suspiciously similar to DayZ, but not affiliated with Rocket or Bohemia Interactive. Rocket sees the game following along the development method outlined by Minecraft of “fast iterations with the community alpha available for a heavily discounted price.” In fact, development will chug along concurrently with the game so as to provide a sort of alpha experience for everyone that has already decided to give the concept the time of day. This announcement doesn’t mean that the DayZ mod is going away. There’d been lots of talk about an actual game coming out of the mod, and now it’s official.
Rocket, as he is known to the community, has just revealed that the mod has become the basis for a full-fledged game from the studio. The creator of the mod, Dean Hall, actually works for ARMA 2′s developer, Bohemia Interactive. If you’re into zombies and mods for video games, chances are you’ve heard of the DayZ mod for ARMA 2.
